do you sell or rent bicycles or e-bikes?

No, we only provide guided tours - we do one thing and do it better than anyone else.

do we need to make reservations for the tour?

Our tours are very popular and book up fast.  Reservations are required, and we encourage you to make them with as much advance notice as possible to lock in your preferred time and date. Book online at least four hours before the tour start time.  If you need to book within the 4-hour window, please call us to see if we can accommodate your group.

WHERE DO WE MEET FOR THE TOUR?

We arrange to meet you at a safe, convenient place where you can leave your locked vehicle.  When booking, you will receive an email with exact directions to our meeting location. We'll also give you your guide's cell phone number if you need to reach out on the tour day.

How often are the tours?

We are open seven days a week. Tours run at various times; the usual schedule is 7:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., but private tours can be scheduled anytime from dawn to dusk.

How long is the tour?

City tours in Old Naples and Marco Island are approximately 2 hours long, and the Everglades tour 3 hours.

How many riders are in a group?

All public tours have a minimum of 4 riders and a maximum of 12 riders. We will contact you if you have booked a tour with fewer than four riders. Private group tours may have up to 35 riders and multiple guides.

Can we book a private tour?

Absolutely! Call our office at 239-580-7960 or email us at office@naplesbicycletours.com to schedule. Rates vary based on rider numbers.

Will we have to wear a helmet?

Yes, no exceptions.  We offer properly sized MIPS helmets, or you can bring your own.

What should we wear/bring?

Wear seasonal-appropriate, comfortable, light-colored clothes, closed-toed shoes or hiking sandals (no flip flops), and optional items - sunscreen, a camera, and a hat with a visor. There is a handlebar bag for your small camera, wallet, sunscreen, etc. Purses or large bags must be left in your vehicles at your own risk. All gear needs to be stowed in the handlebar bag. Backpacks and hip packs are allowed but not recommended. Riders needing any special dietary requirements will need to bring those with them. The only don'ts we have found are not wearing short shorts like running shorts. They ride up the leg, and the saddle will chafe.

Should we bring water?

We suggest you drink lots of water before the tour to stay hydrated. We provide a large bottle of ice-cold water and snacks during the ride and a cool wipe and Gatorade at the end of the ride.

Will we see alligators? Other animals?

Depending on the availability of water, time of day, air temperature, and a bit of luck, we see
alligators almost all the time on the Everglades Guided Eco Tour. Other wildlife you can keep
an eye out for, depending on the tour location, are eagles, owls, herons, osprey, alligators,

manatees, sharks, jellyfish, tortious turtles, bears, mink, otters, butterflies, and even the

endangered Florida Panther. We respect these creatures and will observe them from a safe

vantage point. Do not expect to feed the wild alligators, as it is illegal.

WILL BUGS BE A PROBLEM?

Our city tours have none & our Everglades tours have mostly none. We have no mosquitoes during the winter; we ride near fresh water in the summer. The freshwater mosquito has natural predators that keep the population down. We only spray once necessary & spray is available from your guide.

How long and strenuous are the tours? What if it is too much?

The average guided city tour is approximately 2 hours long, and the distance traveled on the bikes is 8 to 12 miles, depending on the group's speed. The Everglades tour is approximately 3 hours long and 12 miles, including 4 miles of trail riding. These are scenic tours designed for all riding levels. You need to be able to ride a bicycle in control as we will be on city streets or park roads and trails.
We will not make your ride over your ability. We are accommodating and will do all we can to ensure you have a great experience.

What types of pedal bicycles & e-bikes are provided?

We use Cannondale, Jamis, and Caloi comfort pedal bikes. Each is 21-speed with a soft saddle, 26" wheel, and upright touring bike. We have five sizes and will custom-fit the cycle for you based on gender and height. The seat posts and front forks have suspensions for a very comfortable ride. We will need each rider's cycle gender and height so that we can be sure to bring the proper size cycle.

Cruise with us in style with the Denago Cruiser 1 Step-thru e-bike. It features a classic look and comfortable, upright riding position with a padded saddle and high-rise handlebar. Anyone can jump on and ride this fun electric bike, guaranteed to make you smile! While capable of going faster, this e-bike easily allows the rider to reach our average 15 mph touring speed.

why do you not offer e-bikes on the FL everglades TOurs?

We are an eco-tour company, and in the Everglades, it is best to experience it with no noise at a soft pace that allows you to take in all the sights and sounds of the location.  Zooming through at 20 miles per hour is not ideal for you, the bike, or the environment.

Can children participate in the tours?

Due to the size of our bicycles, we cannot accommodate small children. For our pedal bicycle tour, riders must be 58" or taller and 12 years of age or older. For e-bikes, the minimum age requirement is 18 years old and at least 5' tall. No driver's license is required.

Is there a weight limit?

All of our pedal cycles and e-bikes are rated for a maximum rider of 300 lbs.

What about the weather? Rain or Shine?

Southwest Florida is a sub-tropical environment. Be advised that pedal tours will not be canceled due to light rain & rain ponchos are available for each rider. Your safety is our priority, and tours may be canceled before the start time at the tour director's discretion due to heavy rain/lightning. E-bikes cannot tour in the rain for the safety of our guests.

What is your cancellation policy?

Credit cards are charged in full at the time of booking. We allow cancellations at no cost more than 24 hours before the tour. We do not offer refunds within 24 hours, but you can rebook for $20 per rider to another tour with a minimum of 4 riders. If you need to cancel, please call the office at 239-580-7960 to make arrangements.

What can we do to help the environment?

We also adhere to the "leave no trace" policy and ask you to. We recycle everything we can, often stop to pick up trash on the road and trails, and there is a trash bin if needed.  We are passionate about the environment and conservation! We are an eco-friendly company that provides "green" low-impact self-propelled tours in some of the country's most beautiful and exciting natural areas.
